Made energy bites. Trying out this recipe as a test to see if I like. Afternoons can be rough sometimes. These are perfect for me. They have a chewy texture that reminds me of taffy. I do love a good taffy. Instead of having the taffy I have these.

I kicked out the hemp protein because I cannot do hemp. I can taste it and it doesn’t taste good to me. I replaced with Vega Protein that I use when making quick protein drinks.

The original recipe from Deliciously Ella

1cup of medjool dates
¾ cup almonds
¾ cup walnuts
2 tablespoos of chia seeds
2 tablespoons of flaxseeds (ground or not)
1 tablespoon coconut oil (always melt coconut oil before putting into mixture)
1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon hemp protein ( like I said I did not use this I used Vega brand protein powder. I supose you could also use maca powder too)
2 teaspoons of cinnamon

Put the nuts and seeds in food processor until flour like substance is formed. Then add in everything else. You want to blend until the food processor starts kicking about the yummy goo in a big ball. If things arent sticking well with the 1 cup of dates. Maybe you added too much other stuff. So add more dates until the consistency matches.

Make into 15-20 balls. You can use a cookie scoop.

End result is delicious. I keep these in fridge. While in fridge they firm up. Try not to eat thewhole batch before you make the balls. This stuff is gooey goodness.

Better than a bar or energy bites I have tasted in stores.

two thumbs up! Popped one in my mouth this afternoon when I needed it.
